'진실의 불꽃' 릴레이에 동참해주십시오!!!
티벳 의회의 "진실의 불꽃 릴레이"에 관한 기자 회견
"진실의 불꽃" 릴레이 (2012년 7월 6일~12월 10일)
심각하게 악화되고 있는 티벳 내 상황으로 인해, 망명 티벳 의회는 2012년 3월 22일 이루어진 비공개 회의중 논의된 대로 많은 움직임들을 실행하기로 결정했다.
이어 3월 27일에, 망명 티벳 의회 상임 위원회는 그 움직임들 중 하나로 진실의 불꽃 릴레이를 하기로 결정했다.
티벳에 대한 중화 인민 공화국의 무자비한 점령이 있어온 지난 60여 년 동안, 베이징(중국 정부)은 티벳에 대한 그들의 강경책을 절대적으로 고수해왔다. 이것은 결과적으로 중국내 점령 티벳의 풍부한 천연 자원의 착취뿐만 아니라 티벳 민족에 대한 끊임없는 죽임, 고문, 감금 그리고 괴롭힘을 초래해 왔다.
그러나 우리 티벳 민족은 진실을 향한 투쟁을 위해 우리 고유의 문화, 정신적인 전통 그리고 정체성을 지켜왔다. 2008년부터 중국 공안 부대는 특히 티벳 민족을 탄압해왔는데 그것은 수많은 죽음과 셀 수 없는 고문으로 이어졌다. 이러한 상황은 날마다 점점 더 심해지고 있다. 필연적으로, 티벳 민족은 티벳인의 이슈인 달라이 라마 성하의 티벳으로의 귀환에 대한 평화로운 해답을 요구하고, 유엔과 국제 사회에 티벳 민족의 열망과 그들의 가슴 속 깊이 내재된 슬픔을 알리기 위해 한 명씩 차례로 분신해오고 있다. 오늘날의 티벳은 지구상의 지옥과 같다.
티벳 내 우리 형제, 자매들의 용감하고 자기를 돌보지 않는 행동과 함께 단결하여 일어나서, 세계가 그들의 이기심 없는 행동과 열망을 알게 되도록, 티벳 망명 의회는 우리의 존경하는 정신적 지도자이신 달라이 라마 성하의 탄신일인 7월 6일, 전 세계적으로 진실의 불꽃 릴레이를 시작할 것이다.
그 릴레이는 다음과 같은 요구들과 함께 시작될 것이다:
1. 유엔은 1959년, 1961년, 그리고 1965년으로 이어졌던 티벳 문제 해결 이슈에 대한 논의를 해야만 하며, 지속적으로 이러한 문제에 대한 해답의 본질(대의)을 충족시키기 위한 노력을 해야만 한다.
2. 독립적인 국제 진상 조사 대표단이 티벳 내 진행 중인 위기상황들을 조사하기 위해 즉시 파견되어야만 한다.
3. 유엔은 티벳 내 티벳 민족을 충족시키는 기본적인 열망에 대해 확실히 보장하기 위한 특별한 책임을 져야만 한다. 이러한 요구들의 조항(조건)들을 만족시키기 위하여, 수많은 서명들이 진실의 불꽃이 순회하게 될 인도 전역을 포함하여 전세계를 가로질러 여러 다른 나라들에서 모아질 것이다. 이 역사 적인 릴레이는 12월 10일, 호소문과 서명들을 동시에 뉴욕의 유엔 본부, 제네바의 유엔 인권 위원회 그리고 뉴델리의 유엔 사무국에 제출함으로써 완료될 것이다.

"Flame of Truth" Relay
(6 July to 10 December 2012)
Due to grave and worsening situation in Tibet, the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE) has decided to carry out a number of activities as discussed during its closed door meeting held on 22 March 2012. Accordingly on 27 March, the Standing Committee of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile decided on the Flame of Truth Relay as one of its activities.
Over the last sixty years since the Communist China’s brutal occupation of Tibet, Beijing has never changed its hard-line policies on Tibet. This has resulted in China exploiting not only Tibet’s rich natural resources but also to kill, torture, imprison and harass the Tibetan people continuously. However, we have held onto to our unique culture, spiritual tradition and identity to struggle for the truth.
Since 2008 the Chinese security forces have particularly cracked down hard on Tibetans leading to numerous deaths and countless tortures. The situation is getting worse each day. Consequently, the Tibetan people have been setting themselves on fire one after another to demand a peaceful resolution of the Tibetan issue, return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet and to let the UN and the international community know about the Tibetan people’s aspirations and the sorrows hidden deep within their hearts. Tibet today is like hell on earth.
The Flame of Truth
Standing in solidarity with the courageous and selfless acts of our brave brothers and sisters inside Tibet and to make world aware of their selfless acts and aspirations, the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile will commence the worldwide Flame of Truth Relay on 6 July, the day on which our beloved spiritual leader His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama was born. The relay will begin with following demands:
1. The United Nations must discuss the issue of Tibet based on the resolutions that it has passed in 1959, 1961 and 1965, and continuously make efforts to fulfill the substance of these resolutions
2. An independent international fact-finding delegations must immediately be sent to investigate the ongoing crisis in Tibet
3. The United Nations must take special responsibility to ensure that the basic aspirations of the Tibetans inside Tibet are fulfilled
In order to meet the terms of these demands hundreds of thousands of signatures will be collected in different countries across the world, including India through which the Flame of Truth will travel. The historic relay will be concluded on 10 December with submission of appeal letters and signatures simultaneously to the UN Headquarters in New York City, UN Human Rights Council in Geneva and UN information office in New Delhi.
